Persons with a degree of disability (GdB) of at least 50 or a chronic illness who are receiving funding as part of the PROMOS project can apply for a supplementary allowance.
A special allowance of up to €10,000 can be approved for PROMOS funding recipients with disabilities if the funds are needed for additional expenses resulting from the stay abroad and other responsible authorities (e.g., social security agency) do not provide financial assistance after carrying out an examination.
In addition to the application, which must be submitted to the responsible DAAD office in writing (e.g., via email), the following documents must be submitted.
- Copy of disability certification (degree of disability of at least 50%)
- List of prospective expenses in table form
- Proof that other responsible authorities will not grant financial aid
The approved funding is handled via a separate funding agreement. All inquiries related to this topic must be reviewed individually by the DAAD. The PROMOS team at JGU’s International Office can help you establish contact with the responsible DAAD unit. You can find general information, FAQs and links for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses during a stay abroad on the DAAD website.
Erasmus+ provides funding for short stays abroad for enrolled doctoral candidates. Under what is known as short-term mobility, you can spend 5 to 30 days at an Erasmus+ host institution, to participate in courses or research projects, for example.
The exact application deadlines, requirements, and documents needed are specified individually by the respective program of study or faculty. You can find information about this on the Erasmus+ pages of your program of study. Please contact us if you have any questions!
Frequent criteria for the selection of scholarship holders are previous coursework, academic and personal motivation for your stay abroad, study plans, language proficiency, and social aspects. Therefore, you often have to submit a letter of motivation, a CV, an overview of previously earned credits, and proof of language proficiency.
If your application is successful, you can receive the following funding amounts.
